While checking out others posts for the Christian Women Online weekly meme In Other Words, I happened upon this poem someone had posted in a comment section. I had never heard it before and as I read it, my eyes welled with tears.
For this is SO ME!
And I'm not EVEN joking!
As children bring their broken toys with tears for you to mend,
I brought my broken dreams to God, because He was my friend.
But then, instead of leaving Him in peace to work alone,
I hung around and tried to help, with ways that were my own.
At last, I snatched them back and cried, "How can you be so slow?"
"My child," He said, "what could I do? You never did let go."
Oh, WOW.
Change my heart, O God.
Make it ever true.
Change my heart, O God!
May I be like You.
You are the Potter... I am the clay.
Mold me and make me; this is what I pray!
