11 Deep things about me

After seeing this meme at both Chilihead's and
Everyday Mommy's it became evident that I HAD to do this one, because some of the COOLEST Mommy bloggers were doing it. Although my answers will not be nearly as interesting, I'm sure...

Plus...I'm bored again. And we all know THAT'S dangerous!!

1. If you had to choose one vice in exclusion of all others, what would it be? You mean, I could choose one to KEEP?!?! Or one to get rid of? Not quite sure I understand this question, but I'll answer the best I can.
Now that I've quit smoking (not that I don't want one EVERY DAY...STILL...Argh!) The vice that I would LOVE to get rid of the most is taking the Lord's name in vain. Having grown up in the age of the "Valley Girls", saying "OmaGawd!" is an all-too-common occurance. Another variation is "OMaGawd...RUSerious??"
2. If you could change one specific thing about the world, what would it be? I am SO tempted to say "world peace"...but I won't. It would either be to change DHS rules for single mothers of children who have been through traumatic incidents so they can STAY HOME with those CHILDREN or THIS .
3. Name the cartoon character you identify with the most?
Pepe' LePew is a guy...I know. But he is so darn persistent! He never gives up on love, always trying again and again no matter how badly he's treated or what happens.
4. If you could live one day of your life over again, which one would it be? Most blogs I have read, the author picked a GOOD day. I think if I had to live one day over again, I would pick a horrible day...the day my husband was removed from our lives. I would choose to have more faith in God; I would choose to not drown in my own pain but to be braver, hold my head higher and wrap my kids with love and security.
5. If you could go back in history and spend a day with one person, who would it be? My grandmother. "Just Plain" Gramma was what we called her...by her own choosing. We had "Gramma Dorothy", "Gramma Emma", "Gramma Hazel"...but she wanted to be "Just Plain" Gramma. She wrote letters to me every week, till the day she died. No matter where I was or what I did, she loved me and wrote me. And prayed for me; lifted me to the feet of Jesus every. single. day! I'd like to just sit with her for one more day; maybe bake some Peanut Blossom Cookies or cooked chocolate pudding and watch Perry Mason. Go outside and look at her daffodils and snapdragons. Have tuna sandwiches on wheat bread with butter for lunch. And I would spend every minute making sure she knew how much I appreciate her, how much I love her and how much I miss her rough work-worn hands touching my face.
Tissue, please!
7. What is your one most important contribution to this world? I've got four. They are incredible and I think they will take the world by storm some day. #1 is going to be a world class engineer, designing amazing vehicles that travel through space.
#2 will make amazing discoveries in the field of veterinary medicine. Even the catfish adores her!
#3 is going to make Vincent VanGogh and Thomas Kinkade seem so passe'. At the very least she will be Disney's premier animator.
#4 will be a princess or the president of the United States. Cuz she's a genius. Just ask her! **BIG GRIN**
8. What is your one hidden talent that nearly no one knows about? I can slightly play the folk guitar. Slightly. Enough to limp through Silent Night and Amazing Grace. Barely. OK, so it's not really a "talent" per se.

9. What is your most cherished possession? Nothing I have is irreplaceable. My children, of course, aren't my possessions...they are God's, simply on loan to me for a short time. I think, if my house were to catch fire and I had to grab ONE thing, it would be my birth video of #1's ultrasounds, birth and first 2 years.
10. What one person influenced your life the most when growing up? My mother was a constant in my life. I think she worked outside the home when I was younger, but by the time I started school, she was home full-time. I always knew she would be there when I got home. We had our rough spots, especially during my teen years, but I always, always knew she loved me; no matter what I did, my Mom loves me.

11. What word describes you better than any other? Superkalifragilisticexpialadocious!!

**IMPORTANT NOTE...Oooo, OOooo, I have to tell you. Just in case you always wondered how to pronounce "Meme". I know I've been saying it wrong ever since I discovered the word here in Bloggyland about 4 months ago. Tried to make it sound French or something (like Memay)! Turns out Chilihead and
Shannon have this GREAT website they just launched - Blogging Basics 101 - and they advise it is pronounced like it rhymes with "Dream"! WHO KNEW???!! OK, well, I guess they did, you know. But SO much useful information. Go check it out!

Reliving the day my husband was removed from our lives doesn't sound like any fun to me!

I know what you're saying though.
I think that the "horrificness" of it all makes it very hard not to have a day drowned in pain.
I think that the Lord knows that.
